Sourdough Sandwich Rolls

  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 cup sourdough starter 
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2¼ tsp (one package) Active Dry Yeast

Mix liquid ingredients together with egg. Add dry ingredients. Knead until smooth.

Let rise until doubled in size,  about 3 hours. Punch down and divide into 8 equal parts. Shape into balls and place on oiled cookie sheet. Cover and let rise another hour. Brush with an egg wash (1 egg and 1 T water) if desired. Bake at 400F 15-20 minutes.
