Sandwich rolls

For bread:

  • 1½ c. milk
  • 3¼ c. bread flour
  • 1½ T. sugar
  • 1½ t. salt
  • 1 T. active dry yeast

For brushing:

  • 1 egg white

Combine all ingredients except for egg white and knead together.  Allow to rise until doubled, approximately one hour.  Knead again and shape into 6 large sub rolls on a greased pan covered in cornmeal or semolina.


Preheat oven to 375°F


Allow to rise 45 minutes.  Mix egg white with 1 T. water and brush the tops of each loaf.  Back for 15-20 minutes, until done and golden brown.
