Onion Rings

  • 1 large onion, cut into ½" slices
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 ½ c. flour
  • ½ c. cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp. cayenne
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • Oil for frying

Separate slices into individual rings. Marinate in buttermilk for 15 minutes.

Preheat oil to 375°F. 

Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and cayenne in a large bowl.  In small batches, dredge rings in flour mixture and fry until golden brown.
